Objective

The Independent Teaching and Learning Center engages in the support of undergraduate, postgraduate and doctoral studies and promotes the use of new technologies in terms of teaching, while taking special care in using them in benefit of teaching to people with disabilities. Moreover, the TLC collaborates with lecturers and students, the General Directorate of Technical Services and Computerization, particularly the Information Technology Center as well as with the Library and Information Center of the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki aiming to make the most of new teaching methods and proposing optimal solutions to potential problems.

 

The Teaching and Learning Center has the following responsibilities and such other responsibilities that are relevant to the fulfillment of the Center’s objectives:

  • Organizing learning circles, training activities, seminars, etc.
  • Collecting, designing and developing research and training material.
  • Ensures the creation of a repository of supporting research and training content (printed or electronic) as well as good practices.
  • Cooperates with other relevant structures of national and foreign universities and develops joint actions and synergies.
  • Organizes a Register of collaborating faculty members or external experts in teaching and learning, to support individual and/or specialized actions of the Office.

The Teaching and Learning Center may undertake and/or participate in additional educational activities, such as:

  1. Organization of learning cycles and all kinds of actions in cooperation with other scientific, professional, research or educational institutions and institutions in Greece or abroad after the conclusion of a relevant protocol of cooperation.
  2. Provision of services such as studies, development of innovative educational material related to teaching and learning in higher education, as well as undertaking relevant research work.
  3. Organization of conferences/conferences, experiential workshops and other scientific activities, such as the publication of scientific journals, etc.

The educational operation of the Center is supported by members of the academic community of the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki or other higher education institutions or institutes or bodies in the country or abroad that have teaching and learning as their main objective.
